The Royal Toby in Rochdale is a proper big-party hotel wedding. Large rooms, large guest lists, and a day that runs on atmosphere rather than on a schedule. Photographing it well is about staying with the room and letting it build.
I am a wedding photographer based in Ormskirk and I cover Greater Manchester regularly, with travel included.
A real wedding at the Royal Toby
Annie and Daniel married at the Royal Toby in May 2026, on what felt like the hottest day of the year. A live singer kept the room going all afternoon and a big turnout of family and friends made sure the celebrations never let up. Everyone left with a smile, a tan and sore feet. They booked half day coverage and received 435 images.

What to know about photographing here
With a large guest list, group shots take longer than couples expect. Twenty minutes becomes forty very quickly once you are gathering people out of a busy bar. If you want formal groups, write the list in advance and give it to someone from each family who can shout. That one piece of planning buys back more of your day than anything else.
The function rooms are warm and well lit in the evening, which is good for the dance floor and the first dance, and it means the night-time half of the gallery holds up rather than dropping off.

Coverage and cost
Ceremony is £350 and covers up to three hours, from guest arrivals through to the group photos. Half Day Coverage is £649 and runs up to five hours, from guest arrivals through to the speeches. Full Day is £999 and covers up to ten hours, from getting ready to the first dance.
